Our Satruday with Grandma and Grandpa

Last Saturday we went to spend the morning with my parents and go to the Minneapolis Farmers Market with them. When we got to their house Grandma and Grandpa had a surprise for all the grandchildren. A Rainbow Backyard Play System. What fun was had when the kids saw that.

Once my sister and her family arrived we all piled in the cars and headed to the farmers market. We road in the van with my sister her husband and their youngest son. (what an ham he is)

At the farmer market there is so much more than food.

bunches of roses (25) $10.00
my son loves sunflowers

We of course had to get a polish sausage when we arrived(9am) what a great breakfast for us all.

family enjoying time together

My son wanted this little dragon stuffed toy.

And we got green beans o-plenty. (my son ate half the bag as we walked around what great snack food for him to choose).

my nephew enjoying a green bean

As we walked around my mom keep bringing up me making her egg rolls. I told her with the size of the cabbages we saw I would need two waks , two people rolling and two deep fryers to get them made because the cabbages could make at least 200 + egg rolls.
the cabbage is almost as big as him

We had such a nice and memorable day with her I was so glad to have the time to spend with my mom.
my mom looks great even with out hair. You can take her
her hair but her beauty is always there.

Of course one must get a massage when it is available

First Avenue and 7th Street Entry made famous in the movie
Purple Rain. I used to hang out here as a youth. At least the last time I
was there the inside was the same as in the movie no changes.

My son made me feel like a tourist "mom take a picture of the tall buildings" that boy is becoming all country.
Thank you for stopping by and visiting.

NO LAUNDRY

After work yesterday I can home to a surprise from my kids and girlfriend. I am one who does laundry on Friday. I do not have time during the week to do a few loads a day so Friday is Laundry Day at our house. Well, my friend came over grabbed the kids and the laundry and took it to the laundry mat to be done so I do not have to spend my time off(vacation) doing my normal choirs.
I did not notice right away because I had not been in the bathroom yet. So, Brit said "Mom here is yours and dads clothing." I asked her if she washed them for me. She kind of looked at me funny and said "yep". Then it clicked. Michael had told me they went to the laundry mat today I thought to do his sitters laundry and comforters. Then I looked in the bathroom and saw all the laundry was gone.
Here is the rule in our house mom does laundry on Friday there fore your clothing needs to be in the bathroom before I begin. If you bring clothing down after I am done you are out of luck and have to wait till next week. Brit has caught on but Michael is still learning(I always tell him to bring me his basket). Sometimes he does not put all his dirty clothes in there so that is where the problem lies. I have had it where the kids will bring me 3-4 loads each. I look at hem and wonder again why I buy them so much clothing. Oh, well at least I have this week off of laundry. Yeah for me.

Surprise, surprise, surprise

I have the hardest time keeping things a surprise. As, soon as I get something I can not wait to give it to who its for. So, on Friday I ordered Jim a new phone. I wanted to tell him so much but I kept it a surprise until I could get it activated. It was delivered today and I had the Babysitter hide it at her parents house until I got home. I made up an excuse to go to their house and went there to activate the phone. Needless to say he is happy with his new phone and he deserves it for all he does and for who he is. So for my husband I LOVE YOU ALWAYS AND FOREVER.

But, now he told me that two can play the game of surprise. I wonder what is up his sleeve.

Middle name tag

So I was visiting my friend Penless Writer today and she had been taged for the middle name game. So instead of tagging people she asked for us to do it our self.
So here are the rules:

Players, you must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had. When you are tagged you need to write your own blog post containing your own middle name game facts. At the end of your blog post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.My middle name is...........

B-eauty is only skin deep.
A-nger comes more softly
R-elationships are important
B-ooks help me relax
A-rt is in everything my children do
R-arely take time for my self
A-ngels help me through the tough days

I am going to let you play if you want and I will not tag you.

What Are They Thinking

Today I read a sorry online at Newsweek. It Brought up in New York City they plan on paying love income parents to be parents. How, you may ask? By telling them if they take their child to the library to get a library card they get $50 bucks, and if they take them to the dentist $100. And so on.
There reasoning is to get the parents more involved with their kids. Right now it is privately raised funds. But, in the future it could be tax dollars. And we have higher income parents who do not get involved with their children or are responsible parents. What are they going to do for them? What a great use for these funds. Lets pay people to be responsible parents.

This is the second time in 24 hours I have read something about people being irresponsible parents. I was reading a story on my Blog friend Jil's blog and he was talking about poor parenting skills in Thailand.

In the words of my father"what is this world coming to."
I agree.

SCHOOL SHOPPING (and update)

This is the time of year to do all my back to school shopping. I love to shop and I love a great deal when I get one. So here are my deals this year. Gap jeans for Brittany 6.97. Two shirts from Aeropostale 10.00. Etnies tennis shoes 11.78 Eaby NIB(new in box).

All school supplies purchased and ready to go. Two kids excited abut the new year.

Michael has been working ob getting his room cleaned up this week he found a MP3 player at Walmart last week that he wants me to buy. So, I told him last night that he need to clean his room and keep it clean for a week. (to him that is a lifetime) and we would go and get it. Good thing it is a reasonable one to purchase under 30.00.

Brittany has been enjoying watching the Charm Series all summer she is now on season six (I think).

Took some time off starting next week to hang out with the kids before school starts and to see them off for their first days of school. Brittany will start the Tuesday after Labor day and Michael's first day will be that Thursday. Mom needs to take him and spend the first half of the day with him and then I get sent home to wait for him to ride home on the bus. Oh, how nervous I will be.

So that the update for this week so far.

Have great day. and remember to smile someone is always looking.

(I changed my quote what do you think)

Work

Today I had issues at work. I am the type of person who takes things to heart. It could be a mild corrections or nothing that anyone else would think is a big deal but to me I feel that I am letting my boss down if I mess up. I work a job that in my industry is considered a mans job but I am one who is always out for a challenge.

So today when I got to work I was told that I sent ONE bad part yesterday. (out of 500)and I did not even ship it out to the customer because it needed another process done to it. Now, I had the third shift lead rub it in and then another employee rub it in that I made ONE bad part. I was also told that my boss was going to hit me over the head with it( no not really). Then later this morning my boss can and tossed the part on the saw I was working on. I just looked at it and him. Said nothing. Just felt like crap.

Then I thought about it I have to remake lots of parts because people mess them up all the time and they do not get these things rubbed in their face like me. Why do I get it. Sometimes I just want to scream and say why me. I do every thing that is asked of me. I go above and beyond but that does not get brought up. Only what is wrong and I do not make bad parts often.

I remember one time I was not even at work when it happened but I got chewed out because the machine got broke and I was not even there that day. I looked at the person who chewed me out and said so your saying even though I am not here it is still my fault because I have been running that machine longer? How is that fair? I never got a response back for that one. Well that all I have to say about my day. I could keep going but then I would more than likely decide that I am not going back the next day.

One down

The day has come where the car has said no more. We had gotten a 1995 Ford Taurus from a friend of ours and all we needed to do was put in a new Tranny. (what a job to do). We have used this car every day since putting the tranny in and it has been very debendable until now. It has just a little under 300 thousand miles on it and today it said it was done. We thought the problem was from all the moisture we have had the past couple of says but this morning on our way to work it said no more. We were able to get home and that was good. So, now to the junkyard with it. We have been in the process of putting a new motor in my car so that will be put on hold and that car will be got ready to for daily travel for the time being. We are in the process of locating and purchasing a new car. Hopefully by the end of this week we will have a new car. What is still to be determined.

Welcome to my show and tell this week hosted by our friend Kelli.

I have been so busy lately that I have not had time on Fridays to post my show and tell so please feel free to check out what I have been up to this month lots of photos and slide shows.

This week I wanted to share some really great news. My brother in law has done a lot of dumb things in his life and during this him along with us had lost contact with his youngest son.

Now, we always think about him and wonder where he is. With help from the Internet and his girl friend was able to locate his sons mother and begin contact with her. Then I was included in the contact with her. Come to find out that she whats him to have a relationship with his family and was happy to hear from us. I got some photos and now will be speaking with him soon. I have not seen him since he was 2 and a half. Now he is 8. So, we are all really happy and excited.

Other exciting news is if you did not know my mother was diagnosed with cancer and has been under going cemo treatments and the doctor has decided that she stop the cemo due to the fact that quality of life is better than quantity. She was having a hard time with the last round of cemo and it was really hard on her. She sound great and happy to be done for now. It does not mean the cancer is gone it is what is best for her body and spirit. So that is all for this week check out my other post to see how my summer has been (follow the music to the Threshing show). And Check out all the other show and tells at Kelli's.

Tagged 8 facts or habits

My sister has tagged me and I am honored by this. So, I will begin with my habits

  1. Habit: I can not be late. I have to arrive at work at least 1/2 hour early. When there are family events I need to be early example my nephews First Birthday I thought I was about 20 minutes early when in fact I was almost 1 1/2 hours early.
  2. Fact: I suffer from foot in mouth disease. I always seem to say the wrong thing at the wrong time. And sometimes I can fit both feet in my mouth.
  3. Habit: I spend at least 3 to five hours on the computer everyday. I have a hard time pulling myself away. I am really bad with EBay(not buying, selling)
  4. Fact: I love a challenge. If you say I can not do it I will do it just to prove you wrong. At my job I am the first girl to run my machine and my boss was hesitant about bringing me on for the job. Now he is glad he did.
  5. Fact : I am 32 years old and just learned how to drive a stick shift.
  6. Habit: I HAVE to HAVE my coffee every morning. IF I do not my day is ruined. Bad mood Mommy.
  7. Habit: Every time I am at the store I have to buy my son a new car to play with. I have tried to stop but it is so hard.
  8. FACT: I buy all my daughters name brand clothing at the thrift store. Never buy it new. Can not see the reasoning behind it when she will out grow it within a year.

I am going to tag Kelli

The bed story

Jim and I have always put the kids before our selves. When our water bed that we loved so dearly sprung a leak we did everything to fix it and it still need to go in the trash. So for a few years we slept on our king size air mattress. actually 2 when one popped we purchased a new one. We bought Brittany a new bed set and mattress and made due with our air mattress. Michael came along during all for this and we purchased a bed for him of course it was a crib at that time.
Then our lucky day came when our neighbor was wanting to sell his King size bed. It was in great shape, firm no stains. With a price we could not beat.
Jim has always dislike this bed because it was to firm for him and has requested on many a night for us to get a pillow top for it. I would drag my feet because they were either to expensive at the time or we need stuff for the kids.
Well, the day has come Jim got his pillow top for the bed. Down feathers and gel. So we will see if this is any help for him. TTFN (ta ta for now)

Thank the Lord

This evening at around 6pm. The 35w highway bridge in our state collapsed over the the Mississippi river. My first thought was my father drives that daily. It was around the time he is usually heading home and would be in the area. I proceeded to call him on his cell phone to find out where he was. He explain that he was still at work. I told him that the bridge collapse and was worried that he was near or on it. Thank the Lord he was not. I am happy to know that he was kept safe by the lord and still at work.
My heart goes out to all the families hurt by this awful event. Please keep all that were involved in your heart and prayers. This in a great tragedy that happened. The bridge it self was constructed in 1967 and was having some repairs being done when this happened.
Please pray for all.
Thank you
